Employee Spotlight – Meet Lorri Bryson!
At Ernest Signature Custom Homes, we know how important it is to trust the people you choose to build your family’s new home. One of the building blocks of trust is knowledge – so we’d like to introduce our employees to you! We choose to work with some of the most likeable, talented and capable people in the Savannah, GA area. Once you get to know them a little bit better, we’re sure you’ll come to like them as well, and trust them and their expertise.
When it comes to crunching numbers, handling the payroll and taking care of our company’s financial health, there’s no-one better for the job than Lorri Bryson. She’s served as our organization’s Staff Accountant since March of 2004, so she’s celebrating her twelve-year anniversary with us this month. A graduate of Waycross-Ware Technical, where she studied Automated Accounting, Lorri has been a champion of her craft for 33 years. Her rich and varied experience is an incredible asset to our company!
A native of Waycross, GA, Lorri moved to our area 13 years ago when her husband, a DNR Ranger in the Law Enforcement Division, was transferred. Her family, which also includes her son, now 23, discovered that there was a lot to do and see in the Coastal Empire. She loves living near the water, and enjoys the small town feel of our area.
When we asked Lorri what she likes best about her job, she didn’t even have to think twice about her answer. “I like the interaction with the other employees. I do all the accounting, so I get to work with most all the employees. But I would have to say that my favorite is doing the payroll!” (And we’re sure that part of her job is our employee’s favorite as well!)
Although Lorri’s expertise lies outside of the realm of construction, she’s certainly picked up more than a little knowledge of the field here and there…and she’s always eager to learn more. She hopes to increase her knowledge of the industry so that she can help out more with some of the other departments, as well as working as an accountant.
When we asked her what she feels sets an Ernest Signature Custom Home apart from the competition, she replied, “Well, our slogan is ‘The difference is really in the details’. So it definitely is the details, small or large. And our beautiful Gallery, where the customers get to make the choices for their dream home.”
She loves the fact that each of our employees spends a great deal of time with our customers and makes them feel like a part of the Ernest Signature Custom Homes family – it’s her favorite thing about our home building process. She also offers a valuable piece of advice to not only our customers, but to anyone planning to invest in a home of their own; “Trust your realtor and let them help you through the process. It can be a beautiful thing!”
And her choice for the one special upgrade everyone should consider for their new home? “The best kitchen appliances, of course!”
Lastly, we asked the super-secret question that really gives you the inside track on getting to know someone better – ‘What’s the most interesting thing in your garage?’ That was another quick answer from Lorri…and one that comes with a big smile. “My husband’s banana seat, chopper-handle bicycle from when he was a kid in the early 70’s.” Just like the bike, Lorri Bryson is a long-time favorite with a wonderful history; one that we’d like to hang on to forever! We’re so happy she’s a part of our family!
