Employee Spotlight – Meet Lorri Bryson!

At Ernest Homes, we know how important it is to trust the people you choose to build your family’s new home. One of the foundations of that trust is knowledge — which is why we proudly introduce you to the incredible individuals who have shaped our company over the years. We’ve been fortunate to work with some of the most talented, dependable, and genuinely likable people in the Savannah, GA area.

For more than two decades, one of those remarkable team members was Lorri Bryson, who faithfully served as Ernest Homes’ Staff Accountant from March 2004 until her retirement in May 2025. Her dedication, accuracy, and passion for her craft made her an indispensable part of our organization.

A graduate of Waycross-Ware Technical College with a background in Automated Accounting, Lorri brought more than 33 years of experience to her role. A native of Waycross, GA, she moved to the Coastal Empire when her husband — a DNR Ranger in the Law Enforcement Division — was transferred to the area. Along with their son, the family quickly fell in love with the beautiful waterways and the small-town charm that make our region so special.

When asked what she loved most about her work, Lorri always had the same answer ready: “I like the interaction with the other employees. I do all the accounting, so I get to work with most everyone. But I would have to say that my favorite is doing the payroll!” (And we know that part of her role was a staff favorite too!)

Although her position didn’t involve construction directly, Lorri eagerly absorbed industry knowledge over the years and continually sought ways to support other departments. She also understood what set an Ernest home apart, pointing to our motto: “The difference is really in the details.” She especially loved our Design Studio, where customers bring their dream homes to life.

Lorri also shared timeless advice for anyone buying a new home: “Trust your realtor and let them help you through the process. It can be a beautiful thing!” And when asked which upgrade every homeowner should consider, she didn’t hesitate — “The best kitchen appliances, of course!”

In true Ernest Homes tradition, we ended her spotlight interview with one fun question: What’s the most interesting thing in your garage? Her immediate answer, complete with a big smile: “My husband’s banana-seat, chopper-handle bicycle from when he was a kid in the early ’70s.”

Just like that cherished bicycle, Lorri is a long-time favorite with a wonderful history — one we feel incredibly fortunate to be part of. We are deeply grateful for her 21 years of service and wish her all the joy and relaxation that retirement can offer.

Thank you, Lorri, for everything. You will always be a part of the Ernest Homes family!
